NRR-1 VST

Ignite Amps has announced the release of version 1.1 of NRR-1, a freeware VST plugin for Windows and Mac OS X in VST and AU formats.

NRR-1 is a digital emulation of a three channels tube preamplifier for guitar. It has been developed to accurately model its real hardware counterpart, built for Fleshgod Apocalypse guitarist Cristiano Trionfera by Ignite Amps, back in 2009.

The NRR-1 core circuit is mainly based on a famous boutique preamplifier made in '88, modded to suit Cristiano's needs in the best possible way.

• Dynamic 12AX7 / ECC83 coupled triode stages analog modeling.
• Three channels: clean, rhythm and lead, each with fully separated controls.

Recently I discovered a free kit offered by Major League Audio as a demo for their MajorLeagueSounds Vol.1 commercial kit.

Texture Granular Synth 3.0

Texture is an instrument to perform Asyncronous Granular Synthesis based upon the algorithm developed by Giorgio Nottoli [Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia, Roma], and is fully implemented with programming language C++.

Texture generates a grains’ flow in which the way each grain follows the other depends on probabilistic parameters such as grain density (attack/sec), overlapping, synchronism and fade of each grain.
The spectrum generated by the synthesis could be harmonic, expanded or contracted according to the value of frequency exponent parameter; the result will be a sound texture that can change from noisy fragmented sounds, to metallic and tuneless sounds such as bells, finally to harmonic sounds similar to strings or choirs.
Texture is available both as VST or Audio Unit instrument, and each interface’s parameter is automated and can be controlled by the host; some factory presets are implemented in a combo box on the upper-left side of the interface, but user can save his own sound inside the host if needed.

Spacelab is my studio at Ninja Tune headquarters in London. Spacelab 1 was in London Bridge from 1993-2000. Spacelab 2 is in Kennington, 2000- present date. The samplepack contains material drawn from jamm sessions from both Spacelabs 1999-2011.These sessions are completely improvised and feature a loose group of friends of mine who come together weekly to hang out and jamm. Recently we have been escaping from the grid of quantisation by dispensing with a metronome and allowing the drummer to play freely, using a Roland TD12 Vdrums kit hooked up to various sampled drum kits. And f**k me its free! Synth was programed by me with all the presets (60 of them) all done by me aswell!

REDiZER1 was launched in Aug 2009, is capable of generating totally insane noises (sounds?) and what is most important- creating wobble basses with it is a piece of cake.

The Jomox XBase-09 is an analog drum machine based on Roland’s 909. The difference is like the Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris fight in Way of the Dragon. They both got kicks, but at the end of the day Bruce Lee broke Chuck Norris’ fucking neck. The 909 is good, but the Jomox is better.
