SampleRadar has been feeling a little syncopated this week, the result being a sizeable collection of broken beat sounds for you to download.The samples are in high quality WAV format. The collection is split in four tempo-labelled construction kits, each of which contains loops, one-shot hits and multisamples.
Those seeking rhythmic rigidity should look elsewhere, but if you want to stray away from the metronomic, this collection could be right up your street.
Frankly, i’m an electronic music enthusiast who’s been making noise out of computers all his life. I’ve been fascinated by the math behind sound and music. I’m also fairly experienced programmer. So, here we go.
I have to thank Jyrki Pajunen, Ilkka Pajunen and Simo Lappalainen who have been helping me out on this project. Jyrki and Ilkka designed some great presets and produced the demo track with me, Jyrki gave his magic also in mixing and mastering the demo.
Using this soundbank in a sampler, you can play a virtual harpsichord copied after a 18th century french instrument by Blanchet. It has one manual, two 8' stops, plus a lute stop. This soundbank is available in soundfont, and Kontakt 2 format.The soundfont version is compressed so you will need sfark to decompress it. You can download this small software here.

The 909 was recorded directly to tape first, then converted to digital at 24/96 using a Mytek converter, then software SRC. The Rangemaster was a Germanium transistor treble boost developed in the 1960s. It and similar effects have been used by Eric Claption, Brian May, and many more great guitarists. It's most often used to drive a distorted tube amp into more distortion, while boosting the upper-mids for a screaming lead sound.
