For years, Omnisphere was maybe the flagship of all virtual instruments, with dedicated supporters, finding its place in many musical compositions of both professional and amateur artists.

For about a couple of months, Omnisphere is at its second version and there are already free sound libraries available for it. Atari Avalon is probably the most important to date, being created by Plughugger, which are known for their quality presets and sample libraries for Omnisphere, Kontakt, Diva, Sylenth and more.

As you may have already figured out, this soundset pays tribute to the legendary Steinberg Avalon advanced audio editor, containing all the original samples, as well as all the virtual synthesizer constructions. There are 88 sounds, perfectly tailored to popular music genres like techno, pop, dance, ambient, experimental or trap.

Apart from providing the raw sounds, by using the features of Omnisphere, Plughugger took the original sounds to another level, adapting them to current requirements.

So, if you are the lucky owner of Omnisphere 2.1 and you want to expand your library of sounds with quality patches, I highly recommend this. Maybe some will say that there is nothing left of the original sounds of Avalon, this depends on the balance between nostalgia and modernism of each of you.

Omnisphere Atari Avalon is available via Plughugger’s freebie page. Download size is 4.4MB.
