Particular-Sound have announced the release of Aphelion version 1.5, a cinematic library for Native Instruments Kontakt. With this, they also offer us a free stripped-down (but fully functional) version.

The current Aphelion comes with an updated library that has new sounds and samples, Kontakt support and multipatches specially designed for fast use in modern action movies, cinematic trailers and computer games, but also in music genres such as chill out, dubstep, EDM and similar genres. Expect some ground shaking atmospheres, downrisers, cinematic hits, uprisers, pulses, synth fall sounds and much more.

Audio demos:

Featuring a comprehensive GUI with an in-built sequencer, Aphelion is a must have for all cinematic producers and sound designers in general. If you do not have access to Kontakt, you can use the included WAV samples which will certainly work in any DAW or sampler.

The differences between commercial version and free version are as follows: 3.71GB sample content compared to 245MB and 1176 samples & loops versus only 108. Of course there will also be far fewer Kontakt patches in the free version, but enough to make you an idea of the power of Aphelion. And as a common point between the two, note that the free version is also royalty free!

Aphelion (commercial and free) works with Native Instruments Kontakt sampler version 5.4. or above. If you like the free version, you should consider switching it to the commercial version, especially now when it is offered at a reduced price of just $89 (regular $119).
