Los Angeles SynthPop is a new soundbank for the popular Sylenth soft synth, featuring the sought-after retro sounds found in modern synthpop music. A genre that was criticized in the 80’s for being soulless, returns after many years and is seen as an answer to the lack of emotion in music.
The soundbank is created by sample label GOGOi and distributed through Premier Sound Bank webstore. As the name implies, Los Angeles SynthPop is inspired by LA pop scene of the 80’s and recreates the sounds of that era, when the synthesizer was the dominant musical instrument. Based on the mighty Sylenth by Lennar Digital, I can definitely say that GOGOi managed to induce the feelings of those beautiful times.
To make an analogy with today’s artists who use these types of sounds, I’ll list Madeon, Porter Robinson, Charli XCX, Com Truise, La Roux, M83, Passion Pit etc.
Los Angeles SynthPop soundbank has 65 superb presets, overflowing with warmth and vibrant. Inside you’ll find a suite of clearly labeled basses (20), synths (20), pads (12), plucks (10) and arps (3). My favorite presets are the basses for their familiar sound, surprising usability and variety and the pads- exactly as I like: full, with attack and able to sustain the background. Do not forget the synths, an encyclopedia of sounds of 80’s anthems.
Los Angeles SynthPop Sylenth soundbank is aimed at Synthpop, Synthwave, Chillout, RnB, Hiphop, Deep House, Electro and Pop genres. Highly recommended for all producers looking for pure sounds, without gap-fillers for the sake of quantity.
The soundbank requires Lennar Digital Sylenth1 2.2.1v or latest.
