99Sounds has introduced Antigen, a new free collection of sound effects, drones, soundscapes and noises designed by Dronny Darko.
Antigen is intended as an imaginary trip beyond the humanity’s habitable zone, where you will find an unfamiliar sound palette. The sounds found there invites your imagination “to render its own patterns of situations that may be happening in these outlandish-sounding audio clips”. Some hints are given in the title names, but there’s a lot of space left to unfold your imagination.
Now that you know the “story” behind this sample pack, let’s find out what is inside. Antigen contains 50 audio files (24-bit WAV’s), split into three folders organized according to the SciFi sceneries imagined by the author: Aerial, Capsules and Fragment.
Dronny Darko has used various sound design techniques including, in particular, granular and spectral synthesis. He has based on simple effect processors like resonators, reverb, EQ and delay.
All the audio material provided within Antigen is royalty free, meaning you can use it in music production, game development, and other audio/video projects of commercial or non-commercial nature.
Antigen is available for instant download at 99Sounds; download size is 1.11GB (compressed ZIP file).
