    Premier Sound Bank has released Trapstep Volume 1, a collection of sound elements in high quality audio format for various EDM music genres including trapstep, trap, dubstep, electro etc.

    Trapstep Volume 1, is the first installment of a brand new series by Premier Sound Bank. By combining the club and dance vibes of Trap with the innovative and heavy sound design of Dubstep we have set out to bring a brand new sound for producers out there to experiment and create the next big tunes with.

    This collection consists of 158 MB of samples split across four main folders:

    • Bass – 30 loops and 30 one shots, from talking bass lines to synth combos, Reese reinterpretations and hardstyle-esque patterns;
    • Drums – 10 kicks, 10 snares, 10 hats and 10 percussions – low 808s, “woof” & crispy snares, nevrotic hi hats and melodic toms;
    • FX – 10 effect samples, mainly sweeps & drops and processed synthetic percussions;
    • Synths – 30 loops and 30 shots, a various collection of synth lines, arpeggios, gated leads and melodies plus their corresponding shots.

    Demo track:

    All loops and one shots (except drum samples) are labelled with key info. No information about the BPM, I am sure you know the BPM ranges of trapstep (actually I don’t). By the way, the loops are not acidized, which personally I don’t like.

    Regarding originality, a big plus for the synthlines and bass loops. They are versatile, clean and commercial, in one word, they are usable. The drums don’t contain the wow factor and the FX samples are average. I can see that the author concentrated on loops and added the drums and FX as a bonus to complete the finished product. But, on the other side, just tell me if is there more room for innovations on drum samples?

    The audio quality is good, all samples come as a healthy 24bit 44.100 khz WAV format. The sound is flat enough to make room for other samples in the mix. All sounds are royalty free, which means you pay once then, the limit is your creativity or… marketing :) You can use them into commercial releases without any further fees.

    Overall, I recommend Trapstep Volume 1 for all beginner music producers looking for a boost and some inspiration, also, this pack could be a great tutorial for them. I am sure all the trap & trapstep and maybe hardstylers fans out there will appreciate all the effort the author put into it.

    Trapstep Volume 1 costs $20 via Premier Sound Bank online store.

    Competition ended, the winner is Tyler / tyl…@ymail.com

    I did some research and yes, the BPM range of trapstep is between 140 and 150; my question was which is the common BPM of trapstep and the answer is… 140. Being a subgenre of trap, I was pretty sure that also the BPM should be the same, but, always is best to hear opinions. Thank you all for the comments, thanks Premier Sound Bank for offering a great collection as prize and congratz Tyler! I will contact PSB team to send your sample pack via email address.

    PS I visited my doctor today. My heart pulse rate was 140 BPM :)
