BurghRecords has announced the release of PhatNoise LoFi Bass Filter VST Plugin, a free VST effect plugin for Windows.

The LoFi Bass Filter is the follow-up of Simple Delay and Simple ModFilter in PhatNoise, a series of easy to use VST plugins.

For best use, the author recommends you to use audio that is not compressed of has a limiter on it. LoFi Bass Filter is designed primarily to extract lo-fi frequency sounds from recorded vinyl, but you can apply it on any sample you wish, the only requirement is to contain low frequencies. But make sure you turn the sample volume right down before adding the bass filter because the plugin will boost the sound.

Here is a video demonstration with the plugin loaded in Ableton:

This plugin is perfect for beginners as there are not too many parameters to tweak. Start turning the dials and it feels as though you are literally moulding and pressing the sound into the shape you want. Install it into your VST folder (usually C:\Program Files\VstPlugins or C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugins if the plugin is 32-bit).

PhatNoise LoFi Bass Filter also comes with 14 samples (24-bit WAV’s) to play with. Depending on your DAW, you can opt for VST 32-bit or 64-bit plugin, for Windows operating systems only. In order to download it, first, add it to the basket, then go through the requirements at checkout.
