It’s that time of the year again when Soundtoys launches a plugin and gives it for free for a limited time. From this moment on, we know for sure that winter extras are approaching, and that Waves will follow, maybe Native Instruments, and so on.
For the moment, let’s concentrate on Soundtoys’ new plugin which I will gladly add to my collection – Little Plate. As the name suggests, it is a plate reverb plugin, but with a modern twist. Little Plate lets you insert the sound of vintage plate reverb to your tracks and push beyond the limits of the hardware with extended reverb decay time. Therefore, you can create infinite reverb effects that never decay, also take advantage of the optional modulation for natural-sounding variation in the reverb tail. Use the inbuilt Low Cut filter to tame low-frequency build-ups.
Little Plate is inspired by the original EMT 140 plate reverb, but Soundtoys has added a couple of fun twists that let you take it to spaces the original hardware only dreamed of. To get started quickly, there are 25 distinct presets included.
Now the most important thing: Little Reverb is free until November 22, so hurry up and add it to your Soundtoys account. If you don’t have an account there, registration is quick and free, of course. I have also to mention that, in order to activate this plugin, you will need iLok software (+ free iLok.com account) installed on your computer.
Little Reverb is available in the following 32 and 64-bit plugin formats: AAX Native, AAX AudioSuite, VST, and Audio Units (AU).
