Sonus Instruments has announced the release of BassOne, a free bass synthesizer instrument for NI Kontakt.

Here is the story behind this new Sonus Instruments freebie:

We looked through all of our sample data basses and found some of the most used synth bass samples. Next step was to import them into “Tools” and layer them.

When we were happy with what we got, we threw them through the Studer A820 and after some trial and error, we settled on 7.5IPS and 3.75IPS. That’s right, 3.75IPS.

We then recorded the samples back into Pro Tools and carefully edited them. The edited samples were loaded into Kontakt and scripted to ensure the interface is simple and easy to use.

  • 78 Mono samples at 24bit 44.1kHz
  • Two octaves of ‘eat your face’ bass
  • Each high-quality sample has also been recorded at 7.5 and 3.75 inches per second on 2-inch analog Studer A820 Vintage Tape Machine
  • Under 8MB download size

BassOne requires a full version of Native Instruments Kontakt version 5.8 at least.
