Red Module has released two free sample packs featuring drum shots recorded with “reel” tape saturation and sourced from TR-606 and Dr-110 (“Dr. Rhythm”) vintage drum machines.
The recording process went through an Otari MTR-10 with +3dB 1/4″ Tape (MRL Calibrated) and 7.5 IPS, 15 IPS and 30 IPS tape speeds. All hits were recorded live from the real hardware directly into the reel to reel tape machine. Every variation (dynamic and tape speed) recorded from hardware to tape is distinct. The samples are supplied in 24-bit 44.1 kHz WAV.
Free Roland TR-606 sample pack contains 110 samples such as closed/choked/open hi-hats, cymbals, toms, snares and kick drums. The other freebie, Free BOSS Dr-110 “Dr. Rhythm”, brings a total of 33 samples including claps, closed/open hi-hats, cymbals, kicks, and snares.
All samples are given to you royalty-free, which means you can also use them in commercial productions.
