Audio Damage has announced the launch of RoughRider 3, a free compressor VST plugin for Windows and macOS.
The third version of Rough Rider brings some extras, such as an external sidechain input and sidechain HPF, plus a “Full Bandwidth” button that turns off the internal warming filter. The free compressor now has input and output level controls, also the interface has been changed to include the new features listed above. In addition, it now has a new and modern look.
From Audio Damage: “RoughRider compressor is one of the most popular dynamics processors on the planet, with well over a half a million downloads over its decade-plus lifespan, and is in heavy daily use by producers the world over.
With RoughRider3, Audio Damage has expanded the original to include an external sidechain input, the ability to turn off the built-in “warming” filter (the “Full Bandwidth” button), and much more accurate metering.”
Rough Rider 3 is a modern compressor with a bit of “vintage”-style bite and a uniquely warm sound. It is perfect for adding compression effects to your drum buss, it also sounds great with synth bass, clean guitar, and backing vocals. Rough Rider is at its best when used to add pump to rhythmic tracks.
Rough Rider 3 is available in VST/VST3, AAX & AU plugin formats for DAW’s and plugin hosts running on Windows and macOS. An iOS app version is also available.
