Odin 2 Beta Free VST/AU Virtual Synthesizer

TheWaveWarden has announced the release of Odin 2 Beta, a free virtual synthesizer instrument for Windows and macOS.

Ever dreamt of a kickass synthesizer that is available on every platform? With a deep synthesis engine, endless modulation capabilities and it is literally for free? Look no further, Odin’s got you covered!

The sound of this 12-voice polyphonic beast will take you from your studio right to Valhalla. Earth-shattering basses, exquisite leads or mad FX, Odin’s got them all! Use the classic sound of analog waveforms – or draw your own. High-quality emulations of legendary analog filters like the Moog-ladder or the Korg-35 further shape your signal. Round your sound off with four onboard FX, or get crazy with modulation. There’s much to discover in Odin 2.

At this beta stage, Odin 2 already looks very appealing and professional, with a sleek retro style GUI that reminds somehow of Sylenth – if we judge after the color scheme only. Because the structure is completely different, with 3 oscillators, each with its filter, where two filters go through an amplifier. Odin 2 has loads of features such as draw oscillator waves, VA filters, amplifier, distortion, onboard FX, etc.

I took it to a quick test drive into FL Studio, looks good so far, the only drawback would be that handsome interface itself, which is too small for current standards. Make it 25% larger, and it would be perfect. Of course, this message is for the author, because the GUI isn’t scalable (yet). TheWaveWarden is looking for beta testers, also if you create some cool presets, you can send them for a chance to be included in the final factory soundbank. And since we mentioned about soundbank, keep in mind the plugin has no presets yet, you will have to tweak for the sounds by yourself. Sounds like fun, right?

All in all, Odin 2 looks like a promising virtual synthesizer, I can hardly wait for the final version.

If you want more interesting free VST synths, take a look at Esfera 2 and Cheeze Machine 2. Oh, and do you know that you can use Arturia Pigments polychrome synthesizer for free until July 3rd, 2020?

Odin 2 Beta is available in VST3 64-bit (Windows) and AU (macOS) plugin formats. Make sure you put the Odin.vst3 file at the following address: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3. Then, refresh in FL Studio as usual.
