Max Project has announced the release of T. Rex 606, a free virtual drum machine instrument for Windows and Mac.
T. Rex 606 is a ROMpler instrument, featuring the sounds of a classic Roland TR-606 Drumatix programmable analog synthesis drum machine. The free plugin sports a vintage and modern interface, simple and intuitive, I am sure that you will not have any trouble to discover its potential.
There is a total of 7 classic sounds, each distributed across 7 pads. On the right hand, you have two knobs for main volume and a simple reverb unit, they are the only parameters available, if you want more customization, you will need to link T. Rex 606 to external effects.
Keep in mind that this drum machine is not programmable, also you cannot load your own sounds. If you have at your disposal a keyboard/pad MIDI controller, you can easily record your beats in the piano roll. If not, simply program the beats by hand and edit velocity, release and pan as you wish.
T. Rex 606 is available in 32 & 64-bit versions, for Windows (VST) and Mac (AU/VST). The download size is 16MB compressed.
