Cognitone has announced the release of Sprike, a free VST/AU instrument synthesizer plugin based on the source code of Tunefish4.

Sprike is an extended variant of Tunefish4, an open source virtual analog synth originally created by Brain Control.

Cognitone’s main goal was to make Sprike cooperate nicely in a mainly MIDI-controlled environment (MIDI sequencers). Also, they reorganized the preset storage to follow MIDI standards and operating system conventions, added four new MOD sources, and enhanced it with an on-screen keyboard and a slightly changed its look.
